How big of an accomplishment is it to make it to the State track meet in high school? Just imagine how big it was when you’re only in elementary. Daylee and Jace Chisum, and Coulter Reel accomplished that this summer. Griff Reel also participated, but didn’t qualify for state, but we are all rooting you on Griff. At regional’s Griff participated in the 800 and 400, placing 4th in both events and barely missing out on qualifying for state. Daylee, Coulter and Jace, advanced to the state track meet and did very well for only doing this one year. Daylee participated in the 800m, 1600m, 400m and the long jump. At regional's, Daylee placed 12th in long jump, 1st in mile, and 4th in the 800, qualifying for the State meet in the mile. Jace participated in the 50m, 100m, 800m. At regional’s she placed 1st in the 50 and 1st in the 800, qualifying for the state meet in both of those events. Coulter Reel competed in the 800m, 1600m and the high jump. She also ran on the sprint relay and did long jump. At Regionals, she placed 1st in all of her events (800m, 1600m and high jump), qualifying her for the state meet in all events. Daylee, Jace, and Coulter did very well at the state meet. The state meet was in College Station. At the State meet, Daylee placed 12th which is wonderful for being so young. Coulter placed 15th in the 800, 13th in the mile and 1st in high jump. Which qualified her for the National track meet next summer competing in the high jump. Everyone at Guthrie School wants to congratulate each of you and let you know how proud we are of you all. Each one of you represented Guthrie and Guthrie School with honor and pride. Good luck next year and I hope you all do as great or even better than you did this year. |
