This week's activities that include bonfire build, chili supper, and bonfire are postponed to a later week. More details to come.
District Football begins next week!!! We will be playing the Benjamin Mustangs on Friday, October 27th, here in Guthrie. So... here's the line up:
Tuesday, October 24th: High school will build the bonfire 5:30 (or as soon as practice is complete)-7:30 (we will have a hot dog cook out and make smores) Thursday, October 26th: Chili supper (each class that would like to participate in bringing some school spirit to the table is asked to provide a large portion of chili, cornbread, and dessert). There will be NO contest this year, just a 'good ol' family gathering'. Also, NO DECORATIONS (unless your class wants to). This year's events will be held outside of the Community Center (bathrooms will be available). Please have your goodies to the table by 6 pm. This will be a help yourself style, with tables in a long row. Feeding will be from 6-7:30. We will light the BONFIRE and have a pep rally at approximately 7:30. Friday, October 27th: Guthrie Jaguars vs. Benjamin Mustangs 7:30 at Jach Huey Stadium. LET'S FILL THE STANDS! THANKS FOR YOUR GREAT SCHOOL SPIRIT!! GO JAGS!!! Come join us Saturday, October 28th, for an evening of fun!
5:30 pm - Senior class begins serving dinner 6:30 pm - Booths, Dinner, Inflatables, & Bingo 10:00 pm - Junior class auction It should be a fun night! See you there! The Lil' Lady Jags finished as the 3rd place team. Individual placings were: Brylee Moore 4th, Coulter Reel 6th, Sheridan Smith 19th, Hannah Green 22nd, Journey Johnson 23rd, Teresa Doran 32nd, Wendy Uribe 33rd, Faith Keasler 39th.
Congratulations Lil' Lady Jags!  The Guthrie Cross Country teams participated in the District meet Tuesday. The Lady Jags came away with a third place finish and a trip to Regionals. Individual results were Reagan Maxwell 3rd, Nea Vierula 4th, Brylee Smith 10th, Rachel Brendle 27, Mary Gilliland 28, Karlie Van Meter 29, and Abigail Jones 31st.
The JV Lady Jags took home third place honors as well. Individual results were Morgan McCauley 4th, Kaylie Green 8th, Jaycee McCauley 14th, Yaretzi Sandoval 21st, and Emily Rocha 30th. The Jaguars had 2 individual JV runners. Valec Landini was 1st and Damian Landini was 2nd place. Regional Cross Country will be held in Lubbock at Mae Simmons Park on October 23, 2017. Good Luck Lady Jags!!! Thursday, October 12, is Jazz Up the Jaguars Day...as well as school picture day. Be sure to look your sharpest to support our Jaguars and smile big for the camera! Go Jags.
Due to the lack of football officials, our football game at Valley has been moved to Thursday, October 12th, 7:30 pm. Go Jags!
A few times each year, all students and teachers gather to focus on the pillars of the Guthrie Graduate Profile. We call this a school wide learning day because teachers and students are all learning alongside one another. Friday's learning day focused most specifically on the pillar of being a productive and valuable team member. Students were assembled into groups containing both elementary and secondary students. They learned about being good team members by working together to search for clues and puzzle pieces in a scavenger hunt. Once all of their team's puzzle pieces were collected, they were able to assemble their puzzle. All students, young and old, were valuable contributors to their team's success. The scavenger hunt concluded with a tailgate lunch to support our Jaguar football team. It was a great day at Guthrie CSD!  Congratulations Mary Gilliland! Mary had the Champion Light OPB Barrow at the State Fair of Texas. She also placed 8th with her steer. Way to go Mary!  Pictures for Homecoming Queen and King nominees will be at 6:00 pm at Jack Huey Field. Homecoming crowning will be at 7:10 pm. Go Jags!
The JH & HS Lady Jags ran in the Anson Cross Country meet on Tuesday, October 3rd.
The Varsity Lady Jags placed 5th as a team. Individual places were: Reagan Maxwell 1st, Nea Vierula 5th, Brylee Smith 17th, Mary Gilliland 49th, Rachel Brendle 53rd, Karlie Van Meter 61st, Abigail Jones 69th, Kaylie Green 84th, Jaycee McCauley 87th, Yaretzi Sandoval 103rd, and Emily Rocha 108th. The JH Lil' Lady Jags took 4th place in their division. Individual places were: Brylee Moore 2nd, Coulter Reel 6th, Journey Johnson 36th, Sheridon Smith 37th, Hannah Green 49th, Wendy Uribe 57th, and Faith Keasler 78th. Congratulations Lady Jags! The CC teams will travel to Spur for the District meet on Tuesday, October 10th. Click the tab below for the schedule. School Pictures will be taken on Thursday, October 12, 2017. Debbi Ball will again be taking the pictures. Below you will find an order form. Order forms are also being sent home this week with pricing and information. Money may be turned in on the day of the pictures, or must be turned in by October 13th to Trent Van Meter at the school. Smile! 
The time schedule for Anson has been changed. The meet will be on Tuesday, October 3rd.
Race times are: Varsity Boys - 2:00 Varsity Girls - 2:30 JV Girls - 3:00 8th Girls - 3:30 7th Girls - 3:50 JH Boys - 4:10 We've received communication that Anson is moving their cross country meet to tomorrow(Tuesday). This change is due to the possibility of heavy rain on Wednesday and their golf course is not able to hold any additional moisture.
