Summer Reading Kick-Off is Wednesday, June 25, 2025!
And every Wednesday thereafter: July 2, July 9, July 16, July 23.

3:00 PM - 2nd-3rd
4:00 PM - 4th-5th
(Programs are age-appropriate for each group/time slot. Suggested grade attendance is per previous school year.)

We have lots of adventures planned in the library. The theme is STEAM - Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. The State Library helps ‘me’ out with lots of great suggestions and ideas - (as well as Pinterest...) The Summer Reading Field Trip is still in the planning stages. Tentative plans are to travel to Wichita Falls to Castaway Cove Water Park and stay from 11:00 AM -2:00 PM. I have chosen Wednesday, July 30th as the day to go. I will let you know ASAP. Travel will be provided by Guthrie Schools and the only expense to parents are lunch and/or snacks. No outside food or drink is permitted but they sell a $7.00 wristband for unlimited soda drinks (on ice but not unlimited bottled water). The Library might purchase these, but the water park fee IS paid for by the Library and the Priddy Foundation to reward reading over the Summer.
Tickets to the Water Park require your attendance at 2 Library Programs, PLUS a summer reading log, with age-appropriate, on-level, reading entries.
