We have been closely monitoring information surrounding disease spread, and we have stayed in close communication with local and state government and health officials as we grappled with some incredibly difficult decisions for how to best serve and protect our Guthrie family. Today, we are taking a step we’d hoped to avoid...our school will be closed Thursday, March 19 through Friday, Marcy 27. We currently plan to return to school on Monday, March 30. This is a quickly evolving situation, with new information seeming to emerge every hour, so we will continue monitoring developments and assess the conditions through next week. Even if there are no changes to our plan, we will update parents and students again by next Friday, March 27.
Our teachers have finalized logistics on distance learning options to utilize while school is out. They’ll be communicating directly with parents and/or students during this closure as we strive to continue promoting growth and learning in all areas.
During this school closure, please avoid travel to cities identified as "hotspots" and avoid interacting closely with individuals who have been to those areas. We live in an incredibly rural community, so we know limiting all travel is not feasible for most of us. We are simply encouraging everyone to remain thoughtful of our actions during this time, as our goal will remain a return to school as soon as possible.
