It is time for the seventh Book of the Month! This month, I choose Fantasy books. These are awesome adventure books that will take you to another world. Make sure you go by the library to pick up one of these books to read over Spring Break!
Pre-K - 2st grade Book of the Month
Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak
Getting in trouble by his mom, Max is sent to bed without any supper. But he doesn’t care! He sails off to the land of Wild Things where he becomes King. Max can be as terrible as he wants and all the Wild Things join him. But even Max can’t be wild forever. This book will release your inner wild child!
3nd - 5th grade Book of the Month
Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson
Jess Aarons has been practicing so he can be the fastest runner in all of 5th grade. He almost is, until the new girl, Leslie Burke outruns him! The two quickly become best friends and spend most days in the woods where they invent their own enchanted land called Terabithia. But one morning, Leslie goes to Terabithia without Jess and tragedy strikes.
6th - 8th grade Book of the Month
Gregor the Overlander by Suzanne Collins
When Gregor falls through a grate in the laundry of his apartment building, he falls into the dark Underland where spiders, rats and cockroaches coexist with humans. The Underworld is on the brink of war, and Gregor’s arrival is no accident. A prophecy predicted that Gregor would have a major part in the future of the Underworld. He doesn’t want any part of it- until he realizes that it is the only way to solve the mystery of his fathers disappearance.
9th grade - 12th Book of the Month
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by: C.S. Lewis
Four siblings- Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy- step through a wardrobe and into the land of Narnia. Narnia is frozen in an eternal winter and enslaved by the White Witch. When almost all hope is lost, the return of the Great Aslan, changes the tide, and these four siblings are along for the ride.
