The Lady Jags had a very successful weekend at the Regional Track meet.  The girls have worked so hard all season- there were goals that were set and many goals that were met.  The girls continuously broke many records this season and we improved each meet.  I continue to be in awe of the work ethic and their drive to compete and get better.  Proud to be a part of the Lady Jag program:


Shot Put - Abigail Jones - 4th place.  (36'1- had one of her bet throws of the year)
Triple Jump - Coulter Reel - 9th place.  She was having to run from one event to the next.  Her best jump of the season was a 33'4.
110 Hurdles - Abigail Jones -  9th place and holds the new school 110 Hurdle Record.
400m - Coulter Reel - 3rd Place (Bronze medalist). Ran one of her fastest times of the year 
Mile Relay- Brylee Smith, Abigail Jones, Rachel Brendle, & Coulter Reel.  We continued to knock seconds off each meet.  We started the season with a 4:42 and ended the season with a 4:25.  Our best time of the season was ran at Regionals!!!




STATE QUALIFIERS:


High Jump- Coulter Reel.  She kept us on our toes watching and competed well earning herself a silver medal and a state appearance as a freshman.  She has prepared and worked hard towards this goal for many years!  


300m Hurdles and Pole Vault- Brylee Smith.  Brylee holds the new school record for the pole vault at 9'6 and is a silver medalist in the pole vault and the GOLD medalist in the 300m hurdles.  She ran her fastest time of the season with a 48.8 as a sophomore. Brylee also has spent many years preparing for a state appearance!


GREAT JOB GIRLS- YOUR HARD WORK HAS PAID OFF!!

The Lil' Lady Jags traveled to Ralls for the District Tennis Meet on Monday, April 29th.  The doubles team of Journey Johnson and Rylee White took 3rd Place.  Daylee Chisum took the district championship in singles.  Way to go, Lil' Lady Jags!

The final performance of "The Last Night of Ballyhoo" will be Tuesday, May 7th, at 6:30 pm.  Before the performance there will be a spaghetti supper beginning at 5:00 pm to help raise funds for the Guthrie High School One Act Play program.  Cakes will also be auctioned off just before the show begins.  Come out and enjoy some great food and fun, and support our talented Guthrie HS students!

The 2019 Guthrie Elementary Field Day will be held on Wednesday, April 17th, starting at 9:00 AM.  Events will be held at the Guthrie CSD Track.  See you then!

Guthrie CSD has won the Regional UIL Academic Championship!  Several students have advanced to the State Academic competition.  We will post full results soon. Way to go Guthrie!

The GHS company of "The Last Night of Ballyhoo" will perform on Friday, April 12th, at 3:30 pm, at Angelo State Univeristy.  The ASU auditorium is located on West Avenue N in the west end of the Meyer Administration Building; the physical address is 2601 W Ave N, San Angelo, TX 76909.  Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students.  Shows start at 3:30 pm.  Here is the performance order:
