Hector Javier Contreras, also known as Tito, was selected as this months High School Student of the Month. Tito is 18 years old and he is a senior here at Guthrie. His parents are Hector and Rosa Contreras, and he has an older sister, Kimberly Contreras, and an older brother, Kevin Contreras. Tito has been involved in a lot during his high school career including: FFA, Basketball, Track, One Act Play, Church, UIL, and National Honor Society. Tito has also received a number of awards including: the English 1 Award, High School Math Award, Biology Award, and many more. His favorite class is technology and his favorite teacher is Kevin Chisum. Tito recently achieved one of his biggest high school goals which was the becoming the Valedictorian of the Guthrie class of 2015. After high school, he plans on attending South Plains College and majoring in music. Congratulations Tito! Guthrie is proud of you!
