As you have likely heard, we’ve seen an increase in COVID cases in several surrounding communities over the last week or so. While we’ve still been fortunate to have no active cases within our school here in Guthrie, we have had a couple new confirmed positive cases in King County over the last week. In light of these developments and in an effort to be proactive as we consider all aspects of our current situation, Guthrie CSD will close the physical campus and serve our students through Virtual Learning on Monday, November 23 and Tuesday, November 24. While no students will be on campus next Monday or Tuesday for face-to-face classes, they are expected to still complete assignments virtually. Teachers will be communicating with students and/or parents regarding these expectations and assignments. Because this is a precautionary move only, extracurricular activities scheduled for these days will proceed as planned with continued encouragement of thoughtful caution and mindfulness of everyone’s health.
Regular classes will resume on Monday, November 30. If you have any questions, please call the school. We hope you’re all able to enjoy time with your loved ones over the coming week. Have a Happy Thanksgiving, Jags. Congratulations to our November Students of the Month: Chancey Irons, Kingston Long, Macey Harvey, Peyton Taylor, Lynndee Foster, Griff Reel, Wendy Uribe, and Cooper McCleskey.
