Congratulations to Kevin Contreras and Quincy McMorries for winning 1st Place in the Area 17 TCEA Robotics Contest. They competed and won in the Advanced Arena division on Saturday, January 26 in at Slaton HS against high school teams from all over West Texas. This marks the third year in a row this duo has earned a spot to the TCEA State Robotics Contest. This year, over 1,000 high school robotics teams from across Texas have competed in 20 area contests in hopes of advancing to the state competition. This year's state contest will be on April 13 at Deer Park HS in Deer Park, Texas.
Also competing in the Area 17 contest were: Dion Vasquez, Jose Sandoval, LT Sharp and JJ Gibson. These young men performed very well, but fell just short of advancing to the state contest this year. Congratulations to all of these outstanding students. You represented Guthrie CSD very well.
